555 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education and Science when he will appoint a full-time resource teacher for Scoil an Spiorad Naoimh, Laytown, County Meath in view of the fact the present remedial teacher will be retiring in the near future; and the plans, if any, he has in this regard. In the event of the current remedial teacher retiring, the school in question is entitled to fill the post with immediate effect.
The school currently has the services of a resource teacher on a shared basis. I have asked my inspectorate to investigate the needs of the school with a view to determining whether any additional support is warranted.
