I am aware of the issue to which the Deputy refers.
The permanent appointment of a seventh assistant to the school in question is not warranted at present, having regard to the number of pupils involved and the prevailing pupil-teacher ratio for the school.
However, I am currently reviewing the pupil-teacher ratios applicable to special schools and special classes. In the event of the ratios in question being reduced, the staffing position in the school in question will be adjusted accordingly.
