Written Answers. - Inland Waterways.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

183 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance the location of the expenditure of the Office of Public Works on a county to county basis on its current priority list of works for 1999. [11300/99]

The total provision for flood relief including provision to meet outstanding claims for compensation or other expenditure that may arise in respect of completed schemes is IR£4 million. In addition, a further IR£0.713 million is provided for drainage surveys including cost benefit investigations, environmental reports etc.

The following table shows how it is proposed to expend this money in 1999:

Because of the long lead in time in bringing schemes to works stage and also the fact that changes or alterations may be necessary after the exhibition process and indeed in some instances during the works stage it is possible that this schedule may change before year end.
