712 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the position following the closure of a company (details supplied) in County Mayo; if this company is to re-open; and the contact, if any, she has had with this company. [18526/99]
The matter in question is solely one for Údarás na Gaeltachta. However, I understand from an tÚdarás that a liquidator has been appointed to the company in question since July last, that the business has ceased to operate and that it will not be re-opened.
As I indicated in my reply to the Deputy's Question No. 340 of 15 June, an tÚdarás will continue with its efforts to find suitable alternative employment opportunities for the people of the area and has, indeed, already made progress in that respect as outlined in my reply today to Question No. 711 from the Deputy.
