396 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 148 of 3 November 1999, the source from which money was paid to his Department for the project; if his Department consulted with the Arts Council prior to announcing the project and if he will make a statement on the matter. The source of the funding for the Anna Livia project is the National Lottery. The allocation was provided to my Department through the 1999 Estimates. The funding for the project was announced by the Minister for Finance in December, 1998 as part of the 1999 budget.
There were no consultations between my Department and the Arts Council prior to announcing the project.
