Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Medical Treatment.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

342 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the costs, giving details for each health board area, of children being flown out of the country for medical treatment in the past 12 months; and the associated costs of each trip, including helicopter and ambulance costs. [13005/00]

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

347 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of persons referred to the UK for medical treatment in each of the years from 1997 to 1999; the type of treatment received by those persons; and the annual cost of such treatment. [13043/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 342 and 347 together.

The information requested by the Deputies is not routinely collected by my Department. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the chief executive officers of the health boards to compile the information for their areas and to forward it directly to the Deputies.
