242 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will instruct the Probate Office to expedite the issuing of a grant of probate for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo as the delay is causing severe and genuine hardship. [17404/00]
I am informed by the Courts Service that there is a waiting period of approximately seven weeks at present in the issuing of grant of probate. However, I understand that if there is hardship in a particular case it is open to the solicitor to write to the probate office setting out the circumstances and asking for the application to be expedited.
