225 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if he has received a submission from Wicklow County Council and Bray Urban District Council for funding under the arts and culture capital enhancement support scheme; his views on the strong case being made for funding the arts in County Wicklow; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The closing date for applications under the ACCESS, arts and culture capital enhancement support scheme was 31 October 2000. Some 170 applications for funding were received including a joint application from Wicklow County Council and Bray Urban District Council. The applications are going through a detailed assessment procedure at present. I expect to be in a position to announce details of funding decisions early in 2001.
