144 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the position of a company (details supplied) in County Leitrim regarding its current trading position; and the role his Department played in having this company locate in Drumshanbo. [5871/01]
This company was approved by my Department on 8 June 2000 for poultry cutting under the European Communities (Fresh Poultrymeat) Regulations, 1996, which ensures that operators process poultry products in full conformity with EU legislation on meat hygiene rules applicable in this area. I understand the company is currently not trading. The location of this company in Drumshanbo was a decision for the company itself.
