Vol. 531 No. 3

Written Answers. - Nursing Staff.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

263 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if St. Canice's Hospital, Kilkenny, has a full complement of nursing staff or if more nurses are required; if a backlog of holiday entitlement of 1,300 days due to nurses now exists due to a shortage of staff; and if so, the way in which the Department will deal with the matter. [5933/01]

Staffing matters are the responsibility in this instance of the South Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of that board to reply directly to the Deputy in relation to the matter raised.
