Ceist:

271 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the amount of funding which was sanctioned for the special housing aid for the elderly scheme by the Government in 2000, giving details of the allocations to each health board region; the amount which was actually spent on projects; and the amount which was spent on administration in each region. [5898/01]

An allocation of £8 million under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme was provided in 2000 to the health boards as follows:

The total expenditure on jobs completed by the health boards at 31 December 2000 was £6,416,937, with £2,951,037 committed in respect of jobs under way at that time. My Department does not have information on the amounts spent by the health boards on administration.
