217 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will make available a document or documents outlining the instructions to district veterinary offices concerning the circumstances relating to private testing and round testing of animals under the tuberculosis and brucellosis schemes; if such ground rule documents exist; if all district veterinary offices operate to the same plan of action; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Comprehensive annual instructions are issued to district veterinary offices and private veterinary practitioners regarding the round testing of animals under the bovine tuberculosis and brucellosis eradication programmes. Copies of these instructions are being forwarded to the Deputy.

In relation to the private testing of animals, I understand that the Deputy has recently been in touch with my Department and has already received the relevant documentation-information in this regard.
