249 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the cost of increasing the current nursing home subvention ceilings of £70, £90 and £120 to double and treble these ceilings. [19545/01]
The rates of subvention were increased from 1 April. The current rates are £90, £120 and £150, depending on whether the assessed level of dependency is medium, high or maximum. I am advised by the health boards-authority that based on the existing levels of dependency of those currently in nursing homes, the costs of doubling and trebling the current rates of subvention would be as follows:
