457 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the total number of teachers at primary level who are not assigned to individual classrooms distinguishing the numbers in different categories such as remedial teachers, resource teachers, non-teaching principals and home-school liaison teachers. The organisation of classes and teachers within a primary school is a matter for the board of management. There are currently 1,480 full-time learning support teaching posts, 717 full-time resource teaching posts and 176 home school liaison posts in primary schools. The information in relation to the other data requested is being compiled and will be forwarded directly to the Deputy.
