142 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he has received an afforestation appeal from a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; if he will rescind the decision made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1673/02]

An appeal dated 8 January 2002 against the decision of the forest service of my Department to refuse an application for grant aid for afforestation is currently being processed. A decision will be made as quickly as possible.
