Vol. 556 No. 3

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Jan O'Sullivan

Ceist:

671 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will inform local authorities of their funding allocation for 2002; if he will inform councils in time for them to give full consideration to their resources during the Estimates process; if he will increase allocations in line with extra demands on resources; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20052/02]

I assume that the question refers to general purpose allocations from the local government fund for 2003.

There will be no avoidable delay in notifying local authorities of these allocations. I intend that resources made available from the fund will take into account the increasing costs facing local authorities, the ability of authorities to meet such costs from local sources and the national finances.

Jan O'Sullivan

Ceist:

672 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will allocate funding to Limerick City Council to carry out major structural work on houses in Pike Avenue, Garryowen, Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20053/02]

My Department has received a request from Limerick City Council for funding to carry out structural repairs to a number of houses in Pike Avenue, Garryowen, Limerick. This proposal is under consideration by my Department and a decision will be made as soon as possible.

John Dennehy

Ceist:

673 Mr. Dennehy asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if Cork City Council have made any application for assistance to carry out the long awaited refurbishment and modernisation of the flats complex at Deanrock Estate in Togher, Cork; if so, the present state of the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20054/02]

My Department has received an outline proposal from Cork City Council for a major regeneration of the Deanrock Estate in Togher. The proposal, which is at a very early design stage, is under consideration in my Department and further discussions on it will be held with the City Council.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

674 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has received proposals from Dublin City Council for a revised set of letting priorities; when he plans to approve this revision. [20066/02]

My Department has approved on 26 July 2002 the revised scheme of letting priorities submitted by Dublin City Council on 7 March 2002.
