Ceist:147 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason an operation for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo was postponed; and when this person will be called again for an eye operation. [25338/02]

The provision of medical services in the case of a person from County Mayo is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
