Vol. 562 No. 2
145 Mr. Ring asked the Taoiseach the persons he has appointed to State boards; the name of each board since June 2002; and the names of the people appointed to the State boards. [5770/03]
The bodies under the aegis of my Department are: the National Statistics Board; the National Economic and Social Council, NESC; the National Economic and Social Forum, NESF; the Information Society Commission; the National Centre for Partnership and Performance, NCPP; and the Law Reform Commission.
The terms of office of the members of both the NESC and the NESF, which were due to expire at the end of December 2002, were extended to the end of March 2003, in the context of the negotiations on a new social partnership agreement which could have implications for the work of both bodies.
The National Economic and Social Development Office, NESDO, will integrate the NESC, the NESF and the NCPP, and legislation to give effect to this will be introduced into the House shortly. There have been no appointments made to these bodies by me since June 2002.
Regarding committees, as referred to in my reply of 9 October 2002, the new chairman of Financial Services Ireland, Mr. William Slattery, has joined the IFSC Clearing House Group and Mr. Ian Clancy, chairman of the Dublin International Insurance and Managers Association, has joined the IFSC Working Group. Mr. David Smyth of Ernst & Young has joined the Banking and Treasury Group.
146 Mr. Ring asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the persons she has appointed to State boards; the name of each board since June 2002; and the names of the people appointed to the State boards. [5771/03]
