Ceist:450 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if funding is available from the health board for a person approved for the disabled person's grant who cannot meet the full costs of the works. [11715/03]
Written Answers. - Grant Payments.
As I am sure the Deputy is aware, the provision of the disabled person's grant is a matter for the Department of the Environment and Local Government. Such grants are administered through the relevant local authority for the purpose of meeting the accessibility needs of people with physical and-or sensory disabilities.
Furthermore, I wish to advise the Deputy that health board involvement is limited to that of providing occupational therapists which are required to provide assessment reports for applicants interested in this scheme.
