Vol. 572 No. 2

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Finian McGrath

Ceist:

152 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children if St. Michael's House, Ballymun, can be assisted in its efforts to assist the 263 priority cases on its waiting list for services for people with intellectual disabilities. [22706/03]

Responsibility for the provision of funding for services to persons with intellectual disability and those with autism in the Dublin region lies, in the first instance, with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.

The Deputy will appreciate that I cannot at this stage give specific commitments in relation to levels of expenditure in 2004 for any particular service as these matters will be decided as part of the discussions on the Estimates and budget for that year between my Department and the Department of Finance.
