157 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on a complaint (details supplied) in relation to anti-social activities in Fairview Park, Dublin 3; and if he will make a statement on the role of the Garda in the wider society. [23708/03]

I refer the Deputy to my replies to Question No. 475 of 14 October 2003, and Question No. 1238 of 30 September 2003 which dealt in some detail with the issues relating to Fairview Park. The mission of the Garda is to achieve the highest attainable level of personal protection and State security with a commitment to a continuing development of its relationship with the community and with respect for the human rights of all.
