258 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department recognises digital hearing aids as an appliance which he will provide to persons holding medical cards in appropriate circumstances; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29194/03]

The provision of equipment, such as hearing aids, to medical card holders is a matter for the relevant health board. If the Deputy is aware of a particular instance where difficulty is being experienced, he should contact the chief executive officer of the relevant health board.
