Vol. 118 No. 7

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Patrick Kennedy that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The closure of Barrington's Hospital, Limerick.

I also received notice from Senator John Connor of the following matter:

The possibility of siting the administrative headquarters of the proposed National Forestry Authority in Castlerea, County Roscommon, as part of the Government's decentralisation policy.

I also received notice from Senator David Norris of the following matter:

The condition of the paintings in the possession of the National Gallery of Ireland.

I also received notice from Senator Joe Doyle of the following matter:

The urgent need for the Minister for Energy to implement in full the recommendations of the Cremer and Warner report.

I also received notice from Senator Paul Bradford of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to expedite the processing of applications by farmers throughout the north Cork region for inclusion in the Disadvantaged Areas Scheme.

I also received notice from Senator Patrick McGowan of the following matter:

The need to restructure Bord Fáilte on a regional basis in view of the upturn in the tourist industry.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Kennedy, Connor, Norris, Doyle and Bradford as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Kennedy's motion and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Connor, Norris, Doyle and Bradford may give notice for another day of the matters they wish to raise.

I regret that the matter raised by Senator McGowan is too wide to be dealt with under the half-hour Adjournment procedure. I regret I have to rule the matter raised is not suitable for discussion on the Adjournment of this House.
