570 Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if transport will be provided to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that without transport being provided they will be unable to attend their medical appointments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraOperational responsibility for the management and delivery of health and personal social services, including patient transport, is a matter for the Health Service Executive and funding for such services is provided in the Executive's Vote. Therefore, the Executive is the appropriate body to consider the particular issue raised by the Deputy. My Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have the matters investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
