600 Deputy Timmy Dooley asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will supply details, capital investment levels and timeframe, for sporting and recreation projects, planned or in progress, in Dublin. [26364/11]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Sports Capital Programme is the primary means of providing Government support for the provision of sports facilities throughout the country. Since 1998, over €170m has been allocated to sports projects in Dublin. In addition, during the same period, the Government has invested over €107m in the redevelopment of Croke Park and €191m in the development of the Aviva stadium. €28m remains to be drawn down in respect of 274 SCP projects in Dublin. No decision has been made on the timing of the next round of the Sports Capital Programme.
Since 2000 over €31m has also been allocated to projects in Dublin under the current round of the Local Authority Swimming Pool Programme. €4.6m remains to be drawn down in the case of 7 projects. No decision has been made in regard to the timing of a new round of the LASPP.
