552. Deputy Finian McGrath asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his plans to introduce sanctions to the single farm payments of farmers who continue to cut turf on Ireland’s 53 raised bog Special Areas of Conservation [44766/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department has received a number of reports from the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht relating to alleged breaches of the Habitiat’s Directive. My Department is currently examining the issues arising in relation to potential cross-compliance obligations under EU legislation and in this regard has been in follow-up correspondence with the Department of Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
