Vol. 188 No. 7

Written Answers. - Employment of Certificated Seamen.

41.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power the number of certificated deck officers, certificated engineer officers, cadets, apprentices, and seamen of all ranks and branches employed in (a) Irish registered deep-sea merchant ships, and (b) Irish registered coastal merchant ships in each of the years 1950-1959.

The compilation of the information sought would involve an expenditure of official time which would not be warranted. Ships' records from which the information could be extracted are held under the control of the Officer in charge of the General Register and Record Office, 27, Eden Quay, Dublin and may be inspected by arrangement with him and on payment of a fee of 2/6d. for each ship's record.
