asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of each county council area (a) the number of ratepayers who received a primary allowance in relief of rates in the financial year 1965-66, (b) the total valuation on which the primary allowance was based, and (c) the number of male (i) employees and (ii) relatives in respect of whom employment allowance was paid in the same period.

NOTES:
(1) The figures in Column (a) are those given by County Councils for the total number of rated holdings, two or more holdings in the occupation of one rate-payer being counted as one. Primary Allowance applies to all holdings—to the full valuation where this is under £20 and to the first £20 of the valuation where the total is greater than £20.
(2) The figures in Column (b) include the aggregate land valuation of holdings not exceeding £20 land valuation and the aggregate land valuation of the first £20 of holdings exceeding £20 valuation.
