Vol. 285 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork School.

34.

asked the Minister for Education when a new primary school will be erected at Ballingeary, Macroom, County Cork.

35.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that the roof of Ballingeary boys national school, County Cork is in a bad state of repair; and if he will take immediate steps to have it repaired.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 34 and 35 together.

Documentary evidence of title to the site for the proposed new central school at Ballingeary, County Cork, has not yet been submitted but I am informed that title documents will be available shortly. As soon as satisfactory evidence of title is received a grant towards the cost of erecting a new school building will be sanctioned without delay.

The Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to furnish a report on the condition of the roof of the existing Ballingeary boys national school. When the report is received the question of sanctioning a grant towards the cost of the works will be considered.
