Vol. 351 No. 6

Written Answers. - Speech Therapist.

555.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a school (details supplied) in Dublin 4 was refused the services of a physiotherapist, a speech therapist and an occupational therapist when many of the children have multihandicaps and as a result are seriously disadvantaged.

A request by the school in question to obtain the services of a speech therapist is currently under consideration. Neither my Department nor the Eastern Health Board has received a request from this school for the services of a physiotherapist or for an extension of its existing occupational therapy service. Any such request will receive sympathetic consideration.
