Vol. 357 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

561.

asked the Minister for the Environment in view of representations already made to him in relation to the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 and as a final or satisfactory reply on the matter has not as yet been received if he will give an up to date reply with regard to the payment of a house improvement grant to this person.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named. In the Deputy's representations of November 1984 he requested that information in relation to a grant for the building of a bathroom be furnished to the person named and this was done at the time.

562.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for immediate payment of a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The application in this case is for the installation of water and sewerage facilities, the building of a chimney and bathroom, and the carrying out of necessary repairs to the basic fabric of the house.

A water grant cannot be allowed because the applicant is a member of a group water supply scheme. A chimney grant cannot be allowed because this facility already exists in the house.

Grants for the installation of sewerage facilities, the building of a bathroom and the carrying out of necessary repairs will be approved when the applicant submits evidence of planning permission for the building of the bathroom and the provision of a septic tank.
