Ceist:45 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for the Marine if he will devise a policy for the maintenance and repair of small harbours which are not catered for under the Harbours Act, 1946.
Written Answers. - Maintenance of Small Harbours.
My Department receive an allocation of funds for the development of harbours for fishery purposes and this is used to undertake projects at the fishery harbour centres and for making grants to county councils in respect of fishery harbour projects. I do not propose to change the existing procedure whereby local authorities are responsible for the maintenance and repair of these harbours.
