135 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice the number of crimes reported in the most recent years for which figures are available, classified by type of crime in each of the following Garda stations: (a) Whitehall, Dublin 9; (b) Santry, Dublin 9; (c) Clontarf, Dublin 3; (d) Raheny, Dublin 5 and (e) Coolock, Dublin 5.

138 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice the number of crimes reported to the Gardaí and the number of prosecutions initiated in each of the past five years at the following Garda stations: (a) Whitehall, Dublin 9; (b) Santry, Dublin 9; (c) Clontarf, Dublin 3; (d) Raheny, Dublin 5 and (e) Coolock, Dublin 5.

I propose to answer Questions Nos. 135 and 138 together.

The information sought, in so far as it is available, is set out in a tabular statement. I am informed by the Garda authorities that information about the numbers of prosecutions initiated in individual stations in the DMA is not available and could be compiled only by the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of staff time and resources.

Group I: Offences against the person, murder, manslaughter, rape, traffic fatalities, etc.

Group II: Offences against property with violence, aggravated burglary, burglary, robbery with arms, robbery.

Group III: Offences against property without violence, larceny, fraud, forgery etc.

Group IV: Other indictable offences.
