98 Mr. Andrews asked the Minister for Education if she will grant special consideration to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin when he sits his Leaving Certificate, due to the onset of epilepsy; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Having carefully examined all aspects of the case in question, my Department is satisfied that special consideration is not warranted in the marking of this candidate's scripts. Should this candidate suffer a related illness during the course of the examination in a particular subject, special consideration will be extended in the marking of that subject provided the matter is fully reported to the examinations branch of my Department and appropriate supporting medical evidence is submitted at the time.
