Written Answers. - Voluntary Secondary Schools Insurance.

Ceist:

60 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Education with whom responsibility lies for the cost of premiums in insuring the building of voluntary secondary schools, whether it is permissible for a school to expend State grants on such costs; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The managerial authorities of secondary schools are responsible for the insurance of school premises.

The cost of such insurance is, in the normal course, met from the annual per capita grants paid to schools in the free education scheme.
