The 200 or so companies in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) who benefit from the low rate (10%) of corporation tax have committed themselves to the creation of close to 2,900 new jobs over the next three to four years. In excess of one-third of these new jobs have already been created. In addition to those mentioned, many jobs arise in respect of associated activities outside the centre in the accounting, legal and general services area.
