Written Answers. - Statutory Consumer Council.
It has been the practice of my Department for some considerable time to engage in extensive consultations with the Consumers Association of Ireland, the Director of Consumer Affairs and other interested parties on the development and formulation of consumer protection policy and proposals, both at national and European Union level.
In these circumstances, I do not see the need to establish a Statutory Consumer Council.
