325 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science the funding provisions, both capital and running costs, to each approved VEC outdoor centre for the past ten years. [5522/99]

328 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science if the remarks made by the VEC centre managers at a recent meeting (details supplied) reflect Department policy; if not, the steps, if any, taken to censor those responsible for the remarks; and, the measures, if any, taken to manage the future of VEC centres. 329 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science the support structures, if any, which can be implemented for a group (details supplied) to rectify the anti-competitiveness of VEC centres; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5526/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 324 to 329, inclusive, together.

The report entitled A Review of the Operation of VEC Outdoor Education Centres in Ireland was presented to me on 12 January 1999. The report is being considered in my Department in regard to the development of future policies relating to Vocational Education Committee outdoor education centres. The issues raised by the Deputy are being considered in this context.
The report is generally available on request from my Department and copies are currently being distributed. The detailed information about the operation of outdoor education centres, which has been requested, is contained in this report which has now been furnished to the Deputy. Details of grant assistance to vocational education committees in respect of the nine approved VEC outdoor education centres for the past ten years as requested are set out in the following tabular format.
