Vol. 503 No. 3

Written Answers. - Flood Relief.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

305 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance the reason lands at Fahy, Ballycroy, County Mayo are continuously flooded preventing local farmers from accessing bogs; and if the Office of Public Works will intervene in conjunction with the local authority to resolve this flooding problem. [10139/99]

As outlined in my reply of 28 January 1998 the position is unchanged. I wish to reiterate that the Commissioners of Public Works advise that their resources are fully committed to advancing the schemes on their current priority list of urban flood relief schemes. Consequently, they are unable to instigate investigations into flooding problems at Fahy, Ballycroy, County Mayo.
