194 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the options being considered to deal with the expected problem of dead farm animals being dumped over the coming winter due to a crisis in the animal rendering industry; and the advice to those concerned about the problem. I do not expect the current problems of the rendering industry, which have basically been caused by a downturn in demand for the industry's products, to impinge on the collection of fallen animals. Current indications show an upturn in demand for feed products being produced by the rendering industry which will, in turn, ease the situation generally.
