Vol. 526 No. 1

Written Answers. - Flood Relief.

Paul McGrath

Ceist:

216 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if, in view of the recent flooding on the recently constructed N4 motorway at Maynooth, County Kildare, he will outline whether he has received a report from the National Roads Authority on the cause of the flooding; the steps that need to be taken to prevent a recurrence; and if he will make a statement on the matter . [26072/00]

Under section 17 of the Roads Act, 1993, the National Roads Authority has overall responsibility for the planning and supervision of works for the construction and maintenance of national roads. I have not received a report from the authority on the flooding of the N4, as this is a matter for the authority itself to address together with the road authority concerned.
