404 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will respond to the request from the parents' association of St. Catherine's national school, Rush, County Dublin for the immediate appointment of a resource teacher. [4493/01]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department has recently sanctioned a resource teacher post to be shared between the school in question and two other schools in the area which are also catering for children with special needs.
