131 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the progress which has taken place in recent times regarding the provision of a new Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare; when it is expected that work can commence on this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14457/01]

A preferred site has been identified for the provision of a new Garda station at Leixlip.

Detailed negotiations are ongoing with the owner of the site. It is too early at this stage to say when work will commence on this project.
