267. Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the actions taken to date by his Department to implement the EU Commission recommendation on collective redress dated 11 June 2013; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1610/15]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe EU Commission Recommendation on common principles for injunctive and compensatory collective redress mechanisms in the Member States concerning violations of rights granted under Union law has a core purpose to facilitate access to justice, stop illegal practices and enable injured parties to obtain compensation in mass harm situations caused by violations of rights granted under Union law. As such, it is a horizontal measure addressed to Member States and provides common guiding principles in relation to collective redress systems in all areas of law and so is a matter more appropriate to my colleague, the Minister for Justice and Equality.
