The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications Networks will meet tomorrow when it meets to launch its report entitled, Issues affecting the Aviation Industry, and then separately discuss complaints about telecommunication companies.
At 11.30am, a report entitled, Issues affecting the Aviation Industry, will be launched before the Commission for Communications Regulation, ComReg, appears to discuss telecommunication companies, protecting customers, dealing with their complaints and potential avenues for redress.
Speaking in advance of the meeting, Committee Chair Kieran O’Donnell, TD, said: “While critical infrastructure, and roll-out have been key themes in our meetings of late, the issues of customer service have been very much to the fore throughout our engagement, as was evident last week when Eir appeared. We hope to develop this piece of important work further on Wednesday when the possibility of redress for these shortcomings will be raised with ComReg.”
Wednesday’s meeting will begin whenthe committee’s report on “Issues affecting the Aviation Industry" is formally launched by the Committee. The final report will examine main areas of concern to ensure the recovery and sustainability of this important sector; Impact of Covid-19 on the Aviation Sector; Airport Tests & EU Traffic Light system and the Medium term policy approach to developing the Irish Aviation sector.
Chair O’Donnell explained: “The finalised report will make 20 key recommendations in advance of the festive period. These are both practical and achievable and we are fully committed to monitoring the progress being made on the on-going implementations of the recommendations contained in Wednesday’s report.”
