Joint Committee on Transport and Communications to discuss the Irish Coast Guard

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 11 May to discuss the Irish Coast Guard at 1:30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House. 

The meeting will be in 2 sessions and the Committee will hear from in:

Session 1

·       Mr John O’Mahony, Chairman of the Irish Coast Guard Volunteers Representative Association

Session 2

·       Mr Michael Murray, Co-ordinator from the Coastal Unit Advisory Group

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Kieran O’Donnell TD said: “The Committee looks forward to this discussion on the Irish Coast Guard with the volunteers providing this invaluable service for coastal communities. We hope to gain insight from the volunteers on how the service is responding to current challenges.”

The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
