The Joint Committee on Health will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 13th July for a discussion on integrated eye care with representatives from Mater Misericordiae University Hospital at 9:30am in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House.
The delivery of eye care services in Ireland has the longest waiting lists in the country, with 44,083 individuals on waiting lists for ophthalmology outpatient appointments as of March 2022.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Cathaoirleach Sean Crowe TD said “the Committee looks forward to receiving an update on the important work of the Integrated Eye Care team in the North East Region to deliver sustainable change in this area.”
