Good Friday Committee to discuss the all-island economy with Professor John FitzGerald and Professor Edgar Morgenroth

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Fergus O’Dowd said: “We welcome the opportunity to resume our discussion on the all-island economy with Professor FitzGerald and Professor Morgenroth. They recently published research on the expected cost of replacing the UK subvention to Northern Ireland in the event of a united Ireland which attracted a lot of discussion and debate.”

“Their research paper which was published by the Institute of International and European Affairs found that a united Ireland could cost €20 billion each year for twenty years. We look forward to discussing their research and other related matters.”
