Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen to consider range of petitions

The Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen chaired by Deputy Martin Browne will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 24 October, at 1.30pm in Committee Room 4 of Leinster House to consider the following petitions:

  • Public Petition Number P00035/22 ‘Amend Child Care Act 1991 to provide HIQA with the necessary powers to sanction Tusla, Child and Family Agency when it fails to meet its statutory obligations’ (resumed);
  • Public Petition Number P00012/23 ‘Justice & Safety’ (resumed);
  • Public Petition Number P00028/24 ‘Credit Unions’ (resumed);
  • Public Petition Number P00037/24 ‘Mandate life-saving measures for babies born at 22 weeks in all Irish hospitals’ (resumed);
  • Public Petition Number P00058/24 ‘Flawed Legislation relating to Pensions and Social Security’ (resumed);
  • Public Petition Number P00063/24 ‘Petition to Review and Rectify the Stamp 1 Work Visa Requirements for Third-Level Graduates’.

The Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen is a standing Committee of the Houses of the Oireachtas and has 11 Members, seven from the Dáil and four from the Seanad.
