The 26th Seanad held its first sitting today in The Convention Centre Dublin.
As the Senator with the longest continuous period of service as a Member of the Seanad, Senator David Norris took the Chair. The Seanad then elected Senator Mark Daly Cathaoirleach of the 26th Seanad.
The sitting was held in The Convention Centre to allow for physical distancing between the Senators and staff during the continuing Covid-19 pandemic.
The Seanad will sit again at 2.30pm on Tuesday, 7 July to elect the Leas-Chathaoirleach.
